Rho Indi invasion power, in my opinion, is overvalued. Yes, they have 4 moves, but they need the ships to be able to do that. And to win a hex, you must have enough force to take a hex, and therein lies the problem with RIS, can you bring enough force to win? Due to high costs and limited ships, this is the most difficult thing for RIS to achieve.
Mechanema have an inherent advantage vs RIS. They get the built in CPU to override the Gauss shield and cheap ships. They can build 2 Interceptors per 1 interceptor of the RIS. It is very difficult for RIS to overcome Mechanema.
RIS, in a game like the above should have kept exploring and simply kept abandoning systems, but yes, it is true, the hex draw can have a massive influence on the game.
