Of course. But then again, what's actually the point of joining an Alliance if once joined, you can be actively prevented from leaving? It's just 9 rounds, not years of political struggle...

I think Alliances can work nicely if established before the game, i.e. Team PvP (2vs2vs2 or 3vs3), but they still feel "weird" when established during the game. Alliance seems like a thing that is "forced" on you - you have to join them, because otherwise they will crush you, or you have to join to make a decent joint-venture force, because another alliance is forming at the other side of the board. So at best, you can maybe win collectively, but it doesn't seem plausible to me to win as a person after that. I'd love to learn about examples that would prove me wrong, though. Can someone point me to an alliance variant that alters the game in another way?
