I cannot see, why the part "to 1 unit of any other" completely explains, what you try to prove? This part does not even cover the case, that you get more than one resource from a single trade transaction.I mean, it's not, that I don't believe that's it's meant to be played this way, and it is surely consistent to the remainder of the rulesset and so on, and even for myself believe, that's the right way to play, but still, your quotation of the rules, does simply not explain that detail.
Since it does not explain that detail, I had to assume, that you did not understand the point of my question, and so, I explained it again.
So again: One single unit is always of "the same kind" to itself, so you cannot derive from the rule you quoted, that the two resources you get, must be of the same kind, even if you interprete that "any" as "anyone", which is also highly questionable, in my opinion. Or with other words, the "s" which you add to "unit", is not there.
