Alkari - kind of a yawner to me?

I think I agree. They need work of some kind. They are an avian pterodactyl-like race that has exceptional ship defense (avoidance) and starts on a planet with ancient alien artifacts that help research. There's just not much else to them.

Elerian Empire - I don't know their backstory, but they just seem kind of random to me.

Blue warrior women from outer space with mind control powers to enslave population instead of having to bombard or invade them. They also had a feudal-type government and limited omniscience (could see every ship and every system all the time). They had better combat abilities at offense and defense than most races.

Gnolam Trade Federation - One of the more interesting ideas to me. I would prefer if the explore ability was not exactly the same as Descendants, but we know that works.

I had two ideas for them as alternate mechanics for that so-far, but defaulted to the Descendants ability.

One was simply that they can "peak" at the top hex in each of the three hex piles when they take an explore action.

The other was that they can discard their first tile with each explore action and then draw again, so slightly worse than Descendants. Or maybe the option to discard to the top of a pile and then pick a different sector to explore once per explore action?

Meklar Assembly - Didn't get it at first, but very interesting with the regen. I would think they would be super strong against ancients early. I think starting with regen AND sentient hull is a bit strong, as its an awesome combo. Interceptors with regen, computer and hull, all with 0 power cost?

Yeah... it fits them thematically (and that's all I gave them, besides the 3 to 2 materials to any trade rate). They also have slightly more expensive ships, but maybe simply a worse trade rate would be better. Thematically they are a cybernetic race that could consume a mix of "production" and conventional food and regenerated in combat.

Its going to be really hard to discuss all these races in one single thread!

Yeah... it's pretty obviously too big of a project given that the game itself only has 12 races including space santas. I'm actually asking a friend to do the photoshop work if they're interested to design the player boards. But whatever, I've enjoyed the time invested so-far. It's a fan project, I guess.
