Thread: Eclipse: Rise of the Ancients:: Rules:: Flux Shields - not worth it?

Our gaming group just played our second game last night with RotA - this was the first time someone pulled up the Flux Shield ancient Tech (-3 Shields, 2 Energy).

The player who pulled it put it to the side as tech to figure out where to put it later on, but as the game went on; it started to get less and less useful. I mean, the benefit of getting -3 shields in one slot I suppose seems ok, but at the cost of 2 energy... seems a bit too much.


I dunno, what are other people's thoughts on this? We were thinking about house-ruling it to drop it down to 1 energy, has anyone else every modified it? Does anyone just not play with it?
