Oh good god no.
The game is balanced for 9 rounds. Increasing game length skews advantage to races that gain momentum (like Hydran), and punishes races whose advantage is early (like Eridani.) It may also simply delay inevitable victory for 2 more hours, adding very little and causing pointless frustration.

So, the definition of 'epic' is 'takes longer to play'? Really? Is that all there is?
Why is it that any attempt to improve this game is shot down by the usual vanguard of 'trusty Eclipse fans'? Why not embrace the idea instead of putting up a negative attitude from the beginning?
My suggestions was for optional rules - just like in the spirit of this expansion. It wasn't intended as a permanent game change. I suggested these additions to try and discuss how to improve the game for players who like to turtle first and then attack later which I know many players like to do. If your not that kind of player and have nothing positive to add please move along.
Also 18 turns was just an example. It would just be easy with the turn tracker to start at 1 again in turn 10.
And again, of cause an increase in the number of turns would require heavy play testing. I'm just throwing the idea out and asking if it was ever play tested.
