thx for the replies.I see where you're coming from, and we had the same arguments in our discussion yesterday evening too.
coming to the conclusion that luck in the first/second round plays a more crucial role than with any other race we could think of.
if you don't get to kill an ancient it is incredibly hard to recover the loss of resources. especially with only two colony ships.
I lost a cruiser and one interceptor against one ancient ship in round 2 and never recovered.
to me it seems, that you HAVE to get a good tile and HAVE to get the kill on the ancient in round 1 for the 1 extra money. a bad draw or your interceptors or one of them getting killed seems almost neck breaking to me.
