Ok, so I finished reading through the expansion rules about alliances and here's the question/example:------------------
Player 1 and Player 2 are in Nova Alliance. Player 2 decides to leave Nova Alliance and earns the Nova Betrayer (-3VP).
Player 1 is now without an ally in Nova Alliance. Can he switch to Vortex Alliance without earning the Nova Betrayer (-3VP)?

He no longer has any allies in the Nova Alliance, so is it possible to switch, without earning the betrayer? Also, can he still earn 2VP even though he no longer has any allies in the alliance should he decide to not leave Nova Alliance?
